Ok so the price is a little on the high side but one look at the menu and you’ll be diving for your cheque book!

To start you can enjoy the trio Of Irish Salmon with a Giant Blini, Crème Fraîche and Caviar, for your main you can feast on a New York Strip Sirloin and for desert you can indulge in valrhona caramel chocolate bomb with a liquid Bailey’s centre and honey pecan ice cream, oh there’s also a choice of Shanahan’s select blend of coffee and tea to finish – nuff said!

We’ve been hearing great reports about Thai restaurant Siam and we were very impressed when we checked out the early bird menu. There’s lots of classics like won tons and chicken satay to wet your appetite followed by some delicious curries.

You’ll be chosing from the a la carte menu and you can expect to pay around 22 for two courses.

Siam have restaurants in Malahide, Dundrum and Andrew street.

We do love a good Thai here at TSS so we were very impressed when we checked out the early bird menu at Siam. There’s everything from won tons and chicken satay to choo chee prawn curry and duck chilli oil.

The menu isn’t set and follows a more a la carte structure so you can expect to pay around €22 for two courses.

We fancied something a little different for lunch today so it was the Sugar & Spice Cream Tea in The Atrium Lounge that caught our eye. For €18 you and a friend can indulge in gingerbread panna cotta,viennese whirl with spiced brandy cream ,cinnamon scented carrot cupcake with maple butter cream frosting , cranberry & pecan scones with fig jam, roasted chestnut & chocolate brownie and tea or coffee.

This gorgeous treat is served weekdays from 2pm until 6pm.

Now that is after midday our attention has turned to our bellies and how they are to be filled this evening…..

One option is vegetarian restaurant Cafe Paradiso who do a delisioush pre theatre menu.

We went week at the knees for the tempura of scallopini squash, baby carrots and aubergine with wasabi-soy dip!

They call it pre-theatre, but I, who very rarely visits the theatre, would prefer to call it an early-bird.

Either way the food is delicious and although Locks is slightly pricey , a trip to one of Dublin’s best and least pretentious eateries doesn’t mean your not getting your money’s worth, the food is delicious and the menu superb.

I can highly recommended the Roast Pheasant Breast with Chestnut and Bacon stuffing if, like me, you happen to be game for game.
